Fandango
Every now and then a project comes along with few requirements from the client and near complete creative freedom. They are simultaneously exciting, personal and a bit terrifying. This was one of those projects.
Tekstin Taco and Fandango is a monthly event at Bar Typo in Tekstin Talo in Helsinki, where music, dancing, and food come together in a communal celebration. The food is a blend of Mexican and Finnish cuisine.
Every month a different designer/artist gets a chance to create a poster to promote the event, and they are encouraged to express themselves freely and uniquely. I felt that leaning into my passion for collaging would suit this project well, after all collaging is the art of combining separate or unrelated visuals and ideas to form a new whole, much like the event itself.
